M23 captured several weapons after a firefight with the FARDC

The M23 group has stripped the FARDC of a large number of weapons including rifles and ammunition as well as armored vehicles, following a rare firefight between the two sides in the ongoing conflict.

This equipment was captured from the FARDC on Thursday, February 02, 2023 when M23 and military fighters working with groups like the FDLR rose up and repaired in a heavy battle.

In the ongoing fighting in the suburbs of Kitshanga, FARDC joined forces with FDLR fighters and other armed groups such as Mai-Mai and mercenaries, on Thursday they changed their face, where M23 opened fire on the opponents.

120 soldiers and rebels were also killed by M23 fighters, and their corpses were exposed.

After talking to the soldiers and fighters, M23 showed off the equipment they had seized, which included several types of assault rifles, including AK45s and heavy machine guns.

In these arrests, several bullets were found both on their ropes and in boxes that appeared to be recently imported equipment.

The M23 unit also captured a FARDC ambulance that helped the wounded in the battle to be treated at the MONUSCO hospital.
