Coca-Cola Introduces a New Flavor Using Artificial Intelligence

Coca-Cola has launched a new flavor of innovative soft drinks using artificial intelligence technology, available for a limited time in both regular and sugar-free varieties.

The company describes Y3000, named the soft drink from the future, as the first innovative flavor created in collaboration with both human and artificial intelligence.

According to the company, artificial intelligence is the future, and the development of the Y3000 flavor required a two-step process, researchers at Coca-Cola gathered flavor preferences and key trends to understand what consumers imagine and think about in future tastes, they then analyzed this data using the company’s artificial intelligence system to assist in developing the flavor profile.

The company has not described the actual taste of the new flavor in any of its materials, but testers have described it as resembling a berry slush. Most of these limited-release soft drinks from Coca-Cola have featured mysterious and futuristic concepts with undisclosed flavors.

Coca-Cola utilized its Creations platform, responsible for limited-release flavors like Y3000, to attempt to resonate with younger consumers, it’s crucial for the company to keep customers, especially younger ones, excited about its iconic soft drink, a product with over a century of history.

In recent years, health-conscious consumers have been steering away from sugary beverages, making it challenging for soft drink sellers to market their brands.

As with other flavors from the Creations platform, Y3000 combines online experiences with real-world events or merchandise, customers can scan the QR code on the packaging to access the Creations website, where they can experience what the future might look like 977 years from now.
