Final day thriller in the Primus National League as APR

Final day thriller in the Primus National League as APR,APR FC are 90 minutes away from winning the Primus National League for the fourth time in a row when they face Gorilla FC on Sunday at Kigali Pelé Stadium.

The army side is tied on 60 points with Kiyovu but the former lead the table with a superior goal difference.

The game promises to be exciting with Moussa Gatera’s Gorilla FC side aiming to spoil APR’s party just like they did when they beat Rayon Sports 3-1 early in May to end their title ambitions.

Since winning the second division during the 2019/2020 season and being promoted to the topflight league, Gorilla have never beaten APR during their last five meetings. The army side won all the matches.

APR are currently on fire and they cannot simply slip. They have the needed men to finish the job against Gorilla. Innocent Nshuti has picked great form in the last couple of weeks and he will be leading their attack alongside Yannick Bizimana.

Gorilla FC have also been very unpredictable. They have a dangerous attacking pair of Johnson Adeaga and Onesme Twizerimana who scored against APR in the first round when he was at Police. If the duo are underrated they can cause havoc on any day.

APR have their destiny in their own hands as only a win could guarantee them the trophy since Kiyovu are likely to thrash Rutsiro.

Kiyovu still believe…

Kiyovu Sports who bottled things up last week against Sunrise FC will welcome relegation-threatened Rutsiro.

The Green Baggies must win the game and pray for APR to drop points. On the other hand, a defeat for Rutsiro can also spell doom depending on the outcome of the games of the other teams in the relegation zone.

Elsewhere, Rayon Sports will travel to Nyagatare to battle Sunrise in an encounter which could have an effect on the goal king race. The Blues danger man Leandre Onana has scored 15 goals whereas Sumrise goal machine Yafesi Mubiru has 14.

Bugesera FC must beat AS Kigali in Nyamata or say goodbye to the Premier League. Anything other than a win could see them being relegated.

Etincelles will welcome Rwamagana City to Gisenyi in a game in which the visitors must win if they are to survive.

Marines FC also need at least a point in their game against Police in order to be much safer.
