Mani Martin headed to the United States

On the evening of July 26, 2023, artist Mani Martin headed to the United States of America, where he is going to complete his university studies.

The artist is on his way to the US, and it is anticipated that he would fly straight to Washington, DC, to conclude his studies at the University of Virginia.

Since 2022, Mani Martin has started to study the third degree of the University in its ‘Contemplation Center’ department, which teaches humanities and how to use the talents as individuals involved in bringing about change in the wider community made up of those who have beliefs, perceptions and different beliefs.

Mani Martin received a scholarship known as ‘The Dalai Lama fellowship’, which is offered by the University of Virginia in cooperation with the Dalai Lama, the Supreme Leader of the Tibetan religion in China.

It is a scholarship given to persons who are working on various projects that rely on their skills and have the potential to improve their local area.

Following Ifashabayo Sylvain Dejoie [husband of singer Karasira Clarisse], who assisted Mani Martin in learning about and applying for the scholarship, he is the third Rwandan to obtain it.
