Rwanda warns The New York Times

Stephanie Nyombayire,Presidential Press Secretary , warns The New York Times newspaper for the story published, saddens Rwandans during their time of grief on the 29th commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

It is the viewpoint of journalist Anjan Sundaram, who is known to cooperate with individuals opposed to the Rwandan government, which broadcast on Tuesday, April 11, with the title ‘He’s a Brutal Dictator, and One of the West’s Best Friend‘.

Anjan Sundaram is well-known for his book “Bad News: Last Journalists in a Dictatorship,” in which he claims that the Rwandan government has no place for the media and no freedom.

It is the first book to be admonished by people who claim to have testified, because it demonstrates that he lied to them and said things they did not tell him.

Sundaram frequently appears in conversations of Rwandan government enemies, especially those working with Kayumba Nyamwasa’s RNC, and it is claimed that the terrorist group pays him to slander Rwanda.

In an opinion on The New York Times, which often writes stories about Rwanda, Anjan said that while President Kagame is in power, the media has no mercy and those who oppose the government are being targeted.

Despite this, Anjan claims that President Kagame is a great friend of the Europeans, as evidenced by the fact that he is allowed to speak publicly in major meetings and is well spoken by the powerful.

He stated that it is unclear how Rwanda would continue to develop and be permitted to host international conferences and big industries such as Volkswagen.

Stephanie Nyombayire, Presidential Press Secretary , pounded The New York Times on Twitter for its article of Anjan, saying it pains survivors of the 1994 Tutsi genocide.

As survivors share their painful testimonies, as the country remembers the Genocide against the Tutsi,  The New York Times found it fit to publish a piece blaming the victims for causing it and “not doing enough” to stop it.
To be clear:
1.The only causes of the Genocide against the Tutsi are those who carried it out and those who supported them, turned revisionists and apologists today. Welcome to the club Anjan, you can take your seat alongside the latter.
2.The RPA/RPF put an end to the Genocide against the Tutsi. NO ONE else.
3.Contrary to popular NYT belief, our utmost national ambition is not western approval or any other euphemism for “Africans need supervision.” If you care to know, it is actually transforming the lives of citizens, with actions, not articles.
4.Our past has taught us that our future can only be defined by Rwandans. “Nobody will ever decide for us how to live our lives.”- President Kagame

Anjan is already well-known for his negative portrayals of Rwanda in European and American press.
