RwandAir enters partnership with Veterans Club World Championship

#RwandAir has entered a partnership with the Veteran Clubs World Championship (VCWC) that will make the national carrier as the official airline for football legends traveling to and from Kigali ahead of the inaugural edition of the 2024 VCWC #Rwanda.

The event, which is due from May 10-20, will involve 150 world football legends flying to Kigali for the legends tournament and five economic forums on peace, education, tourism, health and business.

They will equally take part in a series of partner events around the themes of youth empowerment, green action, gender equity and investment.

Commenting on the partnership, RwandAir CEO Yvonne Makolo said, “we know the power of sport in bringing people together which makes RwandAir the perfect partner of the Veteran Clubs World Championship.

“That’s why we are proud to be part of the world promotional tour of Legends Visit Rwanda and able to help kick-off this magnificent tournament.”

“We are also excited to include a team from RwandAir in the event who will be showing off their sporting prowess and playing in line with the airline’s values and showing the importance of focusing on the goal and being united together,” she added

Those flying into Kigali on RwandAir will also be able to experience the teamwork that goes into the airline, as well as appreciate the Rwandan flag carrier’s extensive reach across Africa, connecting them to 25 destinations around the globe.

The VCWC is a platform for sports veterans from around the world to connect, compete and contribute to sustainable development, with eight teams taking part in 20 games with more than 40 nationalities.

TV coverage of the contest will be broadcasted globally next year to over 100 million people for ten days from May 10 to May 20 May.
