On Tuesday, July 11, a fire broke out at the office of Imvaho Nshya, a Kinyarwanda newspaper, situated within a building block at the Expo Grounds in Gikondo Sector, Kicukiro District. This location is where the annual trade fair is held.

Fortunately, due to the swift response from the Rwanda National Police (RNP)’s Fire and Rescue Brigade, the fire caused minimal damage. At the scene, three fire trucks from the RNP were present, along with multiple officers. The exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined.

According to a source at Imvaho Nshya, the main operations of the publication have been temporarily relocated to Remera in Gasabo District for several days now. It remains unclear whether all of the publication’s operations have been shifted to Remera.

This incident at Imvaho Nshya occurred after another fire ravaged woodwork workshops in Zindiro, Kimironko sector, Gasabo District, during the early hours of Tuesday.
