Chef Hilda Baci comes clean on why Guinness still hasn’t recognised world record attempt,27-year-old Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has broken her silence on why the Guinness World Records has not yet approved/ announced her as the title holder for the longest Cooking time held by an individual.

The chef who runs a restaurant in Nigeria dubbed My Food by Hilda took to her Instagram page to talk about the issue and why the body had not yet announced her as a title holder.

“Hello everyone Hilda Baci here… so I felt the need to make this video because I have been in between resting, recovering, and sleeping,” started the young chef from her bed in a weak voice.

She went on to highlight that the officials at Guinness were not purposefully withholding the title from her or being arrogant as people were presuming.

The main reason why her record had not been confirmed is that she hadn’t yet sent all the files required for review by the review board.

Now that I am up we have honestly been working round the clock trying to upload all the evidence required to the Guinness World Record portal for their review.

“I wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who was supporting me, came down to enjoy the experience, and posted me. I haven’t had time to go through my phone and the posts but my friends and family have told me about all the support and love I received. I have cried so many times because I don’t take it for granted,” finished off the entrepreneur.

Hilda reported that she had broken the world record after cooking for 100 hours non-stop.

3 days ago the Guinness World Records team issued a statement after Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci broke the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

This is after netizens across the world started calling upon the body to declare Hilda as the new holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time which is currently held by India’s chef Lata Tandon who cooked for 87hr 45min in September 2019.

Responding to queries by Netizens the Guinness World Records team acknowledged that they are aware of Hilda’s attempts to set a new record but they will have to review all the evidence before officially confirming a record.

“We’re aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record ,” read a statement from Guinness World Records.

The previous Cook-A-Thon record was held by chef Lata Tandon from India who cooked for 87hr 45min in September 2019.

A Kenyan lady by the name of Maliha Mohammed in 2019 also set a record for cooking at the Bay Beach Hotel in Mombasa and spent 75hrs and 3 minutes cooking.
