FARDC and Wazalengo are accused of killing and thievery in GOMA

FARDC and Wazalengo are accused of killing and thievery in GOMA

The number of people fleeing the city of Goma continues to increase due to the murders and robberies that are being carried out by the Maimai and other government forces that are involved in protecting the city.

in an interview with a motorcycle rider who did not want to be named for security reasons he stated “Since there is no leadership in our city, we want our government to take all necessary measures to protect this city. For instance, on Friday, three people including my fellow motorcycle were slain in separate incidents”.

In a recent interview with VOA, the Governor of Goma, Commissioner Kabeya Makosa, revealed that at least 20 people had been slain in the previous week. Mr. Makosa claimed that the killings continue to target civilians in various areas of Goma.

The Wazalendo Mai Mai PARERCO, who oversees security in the Kanyarucinya neighborhood, are charged with plundering and murdering the locals.

the motocycle rider frequently claims that some of the murderers are dressed in military clothes while others are in police garb, and that this city is teeming with troops that the government itself is unaware of since they include Mai Mai from Fiji, Kalehe Masisi, and soldiers from other regions, all of whom are armed.

This resident stated: “All those need to live and provide for their homes and families and these mai mai are not paid so the people should suffer. The people also say that at any hour fighting may break out between the FARDC and Mai Mai because they are enraged that there are people FARDC has locked up, so they have to release them through a war.”

Many residents of this city are gradually leaving due to the unfavorable atmosphere by moving to its outskirts, while others are moving to the territories under the control of the EAC and M23 forces in the hope of finding protection there.
