In a media interview, the commander of the EACRF force stated his concern over sending M23 to Sabyinyo.
According to reports from Radio Okapi,EACRF forces held an interview with journalists in Goma.
In this interview, Maj Gen Jeff Nyagah stated to his audience that he cannot support M23 fighters move to Sabyinyo after leaving the territories they used to control. He was speaking to the media in Goma at that moment.
M23 was asked to leave all of the territories they had taken from Kinshasa government forces in November 2022, and its fighters retreated to Sabyinyo area.
The decision to send M23 to Sabyinyo was made at the regional Heads of State summit in Luanda, Angola, on November 23, 2022.
M23 has so far abandoned numerous regions used to control in Rutshuru, Masisi, and Nyiragongo Territories, with the exception of Sabyinyo.
Munyarugerero Canisius, the Deputy Spokesperson of this group in Politics, has frequently declared that M23 will never move to Sabyinyo since they are not animals that go to live in the jungle.
Maj Gen Jeff Nyagah agreed “pointing out that this location could put at risk the lives of M23 fighters.”
When Gen. Jeffe Nyagah was asked by the media why the group did not go to Sabyinyo as requested, he said: “Before sending people to Sabyinyo, did you prepare for it? Have you ever been to Sabyinyo? Do you want people to die there? What is the plan for their lifestyle?”
Gen Nyagah said that no matter what happens, peace will return to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and his colleague Kapata, the deputy, is ready to shed their blood to make the country safe again.
