“It saddens to lose such a good young healthy child who had a great future ahead but today I felt relieved because we are able to bid farewell as he rests after a whole month since he was gone,” he said.

The mother of the rapper comforted everyone saying that he is in a better and happier place with no pain or sorrow. She thanked everyone who had been by their side for the past month, the community of Rwandans, Burundians and the embassy of Rwanda in Canada.

She emphasized how Young CK’s friends in Canada were very supportive and loving to her.

“There are parents who are here that have children in Canada, I want to thank and tell you that your children were there for me like my own and as they asked me, if I will be like a parent to them,” said Young CK’s mother.

Jean Paul Ntazinda, uncle of the deceased rapper who lived with him in Canada took a moment to also clear the air on the cause of his death.

“Calvin was not sick at all nor did he have any problem. We even asked his close friends but none of them said he had any problem at all. When the news about his passing came a lot was said but we want to let you know that as his family we don’t know yet what caused his death, however the police is still investigating and the doctors took exams so we are waiting for the results,” he said.

Some of his family members who live in Canada were present at his funeral, however others were following the burial ceremony live. Public figures who attended the funeral were rappers Kivumbi King, Kenny K shot, Miss Heritage Rwanda 2015, Joannah Keza and Masamba Intore who is related to the late young rapper.
