Russia warns Britain over cruise missiles ,The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its concern over London’s decision to provide Kiev with long-range cruise missiles, stating that it represents a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

According to the ministry, this move by the UK demonstrates an unprecedented level of involvement and is perceived as a very unfriendly step. The statement further suggests that the UK’s actions indicate a willingness to surpass any boundaries and elevate the conflict to a new level of destruction and casualties.

The Russian ministry asserts its right to take any necessary measures to neutralize any potential threats arising from Ukraine’s use of the British cruise missiles. It holds those responsible for this reckless step and London’s overall destructive activities accountable for the consequences that may follow.

The UK confirmed on Thursday that it would be transferring several of its Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine, which have a range of over 250km (155 miles). British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace justified this action as a measured and proportional response to the situation in Ukraine.

On the other hand, the US expressed reluctance to follow the UK’s example, as it has long refrained from providing Ukraine with longer-range weapons like the ATACMS missiles. US officials have reportedly voiced concerns that granting Ukraine the ability to strike targets within Russian territory would be a major escalation of the conflict.

Kiev has persistently requested such longer-range weapons, with the intention of potentially targeting Crimea, which it considers to be illegally occupied territory. Moscow has repeatedly cautioned Western nations that supplying weapons to Ukraine effectively makes them participants in the conflict, a claim that many of these nations vehemently deny.

The Kremlin responded to the British missile deliveries by promising an appropriate response.
