Two arrested over gun homicides in Kigali suburbs

Rwanda National Police (RNP) says it has arrested Patrick Ndagijimana, and Yves Ndagijimana, both residents of City of Kigali, after allegedly using a firearm (a pistol) for murder.

According to Police, two people were killed including 49-year old Idrissa Mujyambere who was killed on May, 18 in Masaka, as well as 45-year old Jean Pierre Kayitare who was killed last month, on November 13.

Mujyambere, a money changer in the City of Kigali, was killed at his residence, while Kayitare, was killed after being lured to Ndagijimana’s house, and stealing a vehicle he was driving.

“Investigations are ongoing,” Police said in a statement issued on Sunday, December 4.
