he entertaining  London derby between West Ham United and Chelsea ended in 1-1 stalemate leaving the  hammers two points above the drop zone. Graham Potter’s team dominated the possession in the first half and opened the scoring through Joao Felix in the 16th minute after he volleyed his shot pass Fabianski.

West Ham looked shaky in first half and were almost punished when Havertz found the net. However he was adjudged off side giving the home team sigh of relief. The Hammers were back on level terms  in the 28th minute through former Chelsea player Emerson who scored from a tight angle. In the second half Soucek looked to have won the game for hammers after turning in Rice’s saved shot, but it was disallowed as the Hammers captain was caught offside by VAR.

Chelsea played some lovely football throughout the 90 minutes, however they  lacked a cutting edge. Chelsea were denied penalty in the final moments of the match after VAR’s disallowed Soucek’s late handball. Following the draw the blues miss the chance to move up the table and stay in ninth place. They will now turn their attention to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

The first half has been an entertaining one with Chelsea and West Ham heading into the halftime with one goal apiece. The second half promises to be a tight contest

Chelsea on the other hand has spent heavily in the transfer window and made eight new signings Champions League qualification hopes seem to be fading away after their draw at Fulham last week.  The Blues have scored just seven goals in their last 12 Premier League matches. While the goals have been hard to come back, Potter would expect his players to find the net against a struggling West Ham. Chelsea has scored in each of their last six encounters against the Hammers and will look to continue to do so in the upcoming match.
