APR sign Congolese goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila,Mugisha stays

APR have completed the signing of Congolese goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila and Nigerian Striker Victor Mbaoma, becoming the latest foreign players to join the Rwandan champions this transfer window as the club undergoes major squad overhaul ahead of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.

The duo penned a two-year deal each after passing medical tests at Kanombe Military Hospital.

Ndzila, 28, was part of the Congo Brazzaville team that took part in the U-17 World Cup held in Mexico 20211 although he did not feature in a single game throughout the tournament. In 2014, coach Claude Leroy took him to the African Cup of Nations (CHAN) held in South Sudan. He was also part of the team that took part in the 2015 AFCON U20 in Senegal.

The former Etoile du Congo shot stopper will be competing for a starting role between the posts with current APR Number One Pierre Ishimwe who played an instrumental role in helping the team win the league title last season.

Mbaoma, on the other hand, joins APR after a successful season with Uzbekistan Super league side Qizilqum Zarafshon in Uzbekistan which he joined after parting ways with USM Alger.

The 26-year-old also had stints with Nigerian Premier League sides Enyimba FC and Akwa United. He also has two international caps with Nigeria under his belt.

Mugisha extends stay

Meanwhile, forward Gilbert Mugisha committed his future with APR until June 2025 after agreeing to a two-year contract extension.

Mugisha had two successful seasons at the military side and his performances on club and national team levels.
