RDC: The high command has moved to Bukavu city, while M23 is storming Goma

While the M23 group is knocking on the gates of Goma, the FARDC military command has moved its headquarter to Camp Sayo in Bukavu.

Military warships and civilian ships were pulled out of Goma and diverted to Bukavu to evacuate military commanders and office supplies.

Among these materials were heavy weapons, which were unloaded about 1:00 a.m. on Thursday night from the Lake Kivu port in Bukavu.

Eyewitnesses say that families of soldiers, including children and women, were also brought by ships and placed in Bukavu.

The FARDC military commanders have chosen to move the warplanes to the Kavumu airstrip in Bukavu, as the Goma airfield is only for civilian use.

This occurs as Goma is under siege by the M23 group, which is claimed to be fighting 25 kilometers away.
